Question 1

Is this software I have to set up myself?

Accepted Answer

No. Slotby is a managed service. You send an enquiry, we call you back for about 15 minutes, we train the receptionist on your prices, area and how you like to book — then we run it. You do not build call flows or live in a dashboard.

Question 2

Do I need a new phone number?

Accepted Answer

Two options. Most British trades prefer a dedicated Slotby number they put on vans and Google. It stays up even if your mobile has no signal. Or we help you forward missed calls from the number you already have. We'll pick what fits.

Question 3

Can it book jobs into my calendar?

Accepted Answer

Yes. It checks the slots you give us, books the job, confirms with the caller and texts you the details. No phone tag. Emergencies can still ring through to your mobile when you want them to.

Question 4

Will it sound like a real person?

Accepted Answer

It speaks in a natural UK voice — not a menu, not 'press 1'. It knows the difference between a burst pipe and someone selling software. Play the sample on the homepage.

Question 5

Can I try it before I commit?

Accepted Answer

Yes. 14 days, full refund if it isn't for you. No setup fee, no lock-in drama.

Question 6

Who actually looks after it?

Accepted Answer

We do. Based in the UK, not a ticket queue. If a call sounds off, it gets fixed the same day.

Question 7

Does it work after hours?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Nights, weekends, bank holidays. Emergency trades across Britain live on those hours — so does the receptionist.

Question 8

What if I only cover part of the county?

Accepted Answer

We train the postcodes and towns you cover. Callers outside your patch get a polite no, or a referral, however you want it.

Question 9

Is this just an AI answering machine?

Accepted Answer

No. An answering machine or voicemail takes a message after the caller has already decided you are busy. Most hang up. Slotby talks back, offers a time you actually have, and books it.

Question 10

Will Google or customers know it is AI?

Accepted Answer

Customers hear it disclosed on the call. We do not hide it. The site says the same.
